Requesting Access to a ClusterΒΆ
ARC affiliated Members have access to ARC clusters. If access was not requested during account creation, email HelpDesk (help@hpc.msstate.edu) indicating the cluster(s) to request access. Additional information may be required to configure access.
Individuals whose primary association is through NOAA should contact their respective PI or the RDHPCS Helpdesk to begin the process.
Individuals whose primary association is through USDA should contact their respective PI or helpdesk to begin the process.
Members of the University who wish to access Ptolemy for research purposes should begin by:
Reaching out to the HelpDesk (help@hpc.msstate.edu) with a description of the purpose and compute requirements.
The ARC team will review the request and determine the most appropriate solution for the proposed work. Upon approval, an account will be created for your utilization, with a set time limit for reviewal.
After approval, an email containing instructions for activating your account will be sent to your University associated address. Follow the instructions and complete all training materials, after which your access will be granted to the approved system.
The ARC maintains cluster resources for coursework in addition to other purposes. Instructors who wish to utilize cluster resources should:
Submit a request via the Class Account form Here
A screenshot or spreadsheet from banner indicating enrollment is necessary for verification. That document should be sent to the HelpDesk (help@hpc.msstate.edu) for account verification. Additionally, Instructors should indicate the expected resources necessary upon submitting this document. If the resources required are unknown, the ARC will provide assistance in clarification.
Students with prior associations may require additional steps for reactivation or additional association. They should email the HelpDesk (help@hpc.msstate.edu) for assistance.
Associations for coursework are valid ONLY for the semester during which the course is offered, and ONLY for work associated with the course itself.
